I live rurally and work out of my art studio in Te Horo, New Zealand. A mother, a wife, a photographer, artist and a beekeeper. I open my studio yearly to the public as part of the Kapiti Arts Trail but I am always happy for you to make an appointment to have a look around anytime though out the year.
I hold a diploma in professional photography and have over 25 years experience in the field. Encaustic Photography is a medium I discovered about 15 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Combining all 3 passions, it allows the photographer, artist and beekeeper in me to merge and complete a full circle in creating an original artwork.. Everyone has photos on the wall but I can make them look like a painting with depth and texture. I have my artwork in galleries across New Zealand and have sold in international shows with the Other Art Fair by Saatchi & Saatchi. I exhibit a large body of my work at the NZ art show in Wellington over Queens birthday weekend and various other shows and exhibits through the year. I love upcycling and admittantly, I am a bit of a greeny at the core. Being sustainable in my practice and looking after the environment is a big part of my motivation. This is where the second part comes in...... Take a memory, be it an old photo, professional portrait or a digital file and I will develop it into something completely unique and entirely special to you. I want you to join me in the creative process and I can take this all one step further and embed it into a special frame or keepsake with encaustic, textures and pigments. Have questions? Just ask. I look forward to welcoming you into the studio for a customised portrait session, an encaustic workshop or just a browse around in my gallery for some original fine art. |
